I vectorised this character who I have affectionately named "Seal Dude" and played aroud with composition. I decided bigger was better and played around with possible colour-ways. I'm really pleased with the colours I came up with and I feel this process is helping me improve my understanding of colour selection.
When I showed a couple of people the design however, a clear problem presented itself. They both assumed the large coloured blobs towards the top of the seal dudes face were his eyes. They are not, they are his eyebrows. The small circular black dots below are meant to be his eyes and this apparent mis-conclusion dramatically alters what the image looks like... I am tempted to change the design so it looks clearer what the eyes are meant to be, but then I worry that he won't be the same character...
